10th IAF Congress & Seminar 2008 at Tanabe, Japan.

From the left to right: Zainuddin sensei (President of Aikikai Malaysia), Hj Haneef sensei (Chairman, Technical Committee of Aikikai Malaysia), Ahmad Isa, Aikidamashii dojo (observer to IAF Congress), Hj Sabtu sensei, instrutor at Aikidamashii dojo and Sarah Wong, member of Aikidamashii dojo

Aikidamashii dojo had the pleasure and privilege of participating in the 10th IAF Congress & Seminar 2008 which was held recently in Tanabe, Japan. This event is held only once in every four years, something akin to aikido Olympics hahaha. But that being said there is no competition in aikido!

3 members of Aikidamashii dojo including Hj Sabtu sensei travelled to Tanabe, Japan with Hj Haneef sensei, Chairman of the Technical Committee of Aikikai Malaysia and Zainuddin sensei, President of Aikikai Malaysia. Malaysia, being a member of the IAF is the supervising country of aikido in Brunei, so it was good exposure for Aikidamashii making its first appearance at the congress and seminars.

It was indeed an eye opener for us as we got to take lessons from world class shihans who have learnt directly from O sensei, made new friends and have a really good time. As the trip was over a span of 10 days and there were many other events that took place apart from the seminars, blogging on the congress and seminar will take place in segments. Stay tuned!
